the sound that you just heard was the birth of a conspiracy theory.  we should have a contest to pick a catchy name for it;  something like the truthers, the MIHOPERS, & etc.

remember, now;  guilty until proven guiltier and exectued..

WH agrees to restore missing Bush administration emails

The Obama administration reached an agreement on Monday with a watchdog group to restore millions of Bush administration emails.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) and the National Security Archive (NSA) announced a settlement of a two-year-long legal battle over 94 days' worth of emails that went missing during President George W. Bush's time in office.

"We may never know exactly what happened to all the missing emails, and which Bush administration officials were involved in the coverup, but we do know the American public never got the full story.” CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan said.

“The Obama administration, which inherited the lawsuits and the dysfunctional White House email system, has done a terrific job straightening out the mess," Sloan added. "Thanks to the Obama White House, a critical part of our nation’s missing history will be restored."

Not all emails that went missing during the Bush administration will be restored, due to budgetary constraints, but the Executive Office of the President will provide CREW with updates and reports on why the emails went missing in the first place.

you can't really argue the accusation that the obama administration has a stick up it's backside the size of a redwood when it comes to george bush.  but saying that the emails were missing really does seem to make it sound watergate-esque.  but that is par for the course for this president.

Former Bush White House spokesman Scott Stanzel said that the 22 million e-mail messages had already been recovered while Bush was still in office and that misleading statements about the former administration's work demonstrate "a continued anti-Bush agenda, nearly a year after a new president was sworn in."

"The liberal groups CREW and National Security Archive litigate for sport, distort the facts and have consistently tried to create a spooky conspiracy out of standard IT issues," he said in a statement.
