Exclusive: Secret Service Bragged About Protecting Obama While Partying At Colombian Brothel

Quote
CARTAGENA, Colombia — ABC News has learned exclusively that the Secret Service officials accused of misconduct in Colombia revealed their identities by boasting at a Cartagena brothel that they worked for President Obama.

Partying at the “Pley Club” Wednesday night, eleven members of the president’s advance team allegedly bragged “we work for Obama” and “we’re here to protect him.”

The officials spent the night throwing back expensive whiskey and enlisting the services of the club’s prostitutes, according to a bouncer at the club and a police source.

Sources tell ABC News several of the men agreed to pay for, and received, services from the “highest category” prostitutes available at the club, who charge upwards of $200.

a hotel employee said this, a hotel employee said that, a hotel employee said the other.  it's probably the same damn hotel employee.

personally, I'm not buying it.  secret service guys are definitely alpha males, but they are ultra professionals.

I thought they were caught in the brothel, with Obama's itinerary and security briefings, by the local police... due to them getting into an argument with the places security as they were leaving over the final bill?  From the way it sounds in the latin press and what has been acknowledged already... professionalism would not be suitable to describe their actions.  Heinous irresponsibility would be more apt.

FWIW, I could care less about the moral issues of them visiting a brothel.

Secret Service Agents Forced Out Amid Prostitution Investigation

Quote
Three Secret Service agents have been forced out of their positions as officials investigate the alleged hiring of prostitutes and other questionable behavior during a presidential visit to Colombia.

"Although the Secret Service's investigation into allegations of misconduct by its employees in Cartagena, Colombia, is in its early stages, and is still ongoing, three of the individuals involved will separate or are in the process of separating from the agency," said Paul S. Morrissey, the assistant director of the U.S. Secret Service Office of Government and Public Affairs, in a written statement.

One supervisory employee was allowed to retire and another was "proposed for removal for cause," the statement said. In addition, a non-supervisory employee resigned.

The employee proposed for removal has been given notice and will be allowed to fight the move, the Secret Service said.

Eight other Secret Service employees remain on administrative leave with suspended security clearances.

In addition, some Secret Service personnel are now under investigation for possible drug use.

Secret Service agent regularly posted photos of himself with sexy women; three more agents booted

Quote
A married Secret Service agent ousted in the Colombia sex scandal has a Facebook page filled with pictures of himself with scantily clad women — bringing further embarrassment to the agency as three more of his co-workers resigned in disgrace yesterday.

They are part of what is now being described as at least a dirty dozen agents who allegedly drank and hired hookers in the steamy South American city of Cartagena while they were supposed to be preparing for the arrival of the president last week.

Two of the agents already tossed from the federal security agency include supervisor David Chaney, 48, and K-9 Unit supervisor Greg Stokes.

Chaney had brazenly flaunted his penchant for boozing and beauties on his Facebook page even before the scandal erupted.

One photo shows Chaney at a high-school reunion in 2009 sandwiched by two pretty blondes, each kissing him on a cheek.

In another photo, he and an unidentified man enjoy the performance of a scantily clad belly dancer while on vacation in Egypt.

The married federal agent also posted a photograph of himself guarding former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin — and boasted below it that he was “really checking her out

Security clearances suspended for military personnel tied to prostitution scandal

Quote
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta reportedly announced Monday that security clearances have been suspended for servicemembers allegedly involved in the Colombia prostitution scandal, in the first disciplinary action to be announced on the military side.

The move follows a similar decision by the Secret Service to suspend clearances for its own agents who were implicated. A total of 11 military members and a dozen Secret Service agents so far have been tied to the alleged misconduct in early April ahead of President Obama's visit to Cartagena.

Panetta discussed the case Monday with reporters en route to Colombia. Reuters first reported on the comments.

White House Communications Agency under investigation in Colombia prostitution scandal

Quote
The investigation into the Colombia prostitution scandal has broadened to include the White House Communications Agency, Nextgov has learned.

Laura Williams, a spokeswoman for the Defense Information Systems Agency, which manages the White House office that provides the president with secure communications, confirmed that one individual from WHCA is under investigation, but could not provide any more details at this time.

A dozen Secret Service agents and 11 military personnel are under investigation in the scandal, which erupted after a night of carousing in Cartagena, Colombia, April 11. The personnel were members of an advance team preparing for President Obama's arrival at a regional summit April 13. Six Secret Service employees have been fired or resigned thus far in the ongoing investigation.

Two more Secret Service agents resign over Colombia scandal

Quote
Washington (CNN) -- Two more Secret Service members have resigned over a Colombia prostitution scandal, the agency said Tuesday, while another member is being forced out and two more were cleared of serious misconduct.

The latest resignations brought to nine the total number of members who have resigned or are being forced out because of the controversy, with three others cleared of the most serious allegations but still facing possible administrative discipline.

A total of 24 people -- 12 Secret Service members and 12 U.S. military members -- were under investigation in the alleged prostitution scandal. Military officials are carrying out a separate investigation of their personnel.

Meanwhile, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee said Tuesday that he wants an outside investigation to determine whether any White House staff members engaged in inappropriate behavior in Colombia.

"I'm not going to be satisfied until we get some independent look at this," Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa told CNN.
