Obama closed Friday's remarks by saying, "I've taken this decision with the confidence that action is necessary, and that we will not be acting alone. Our goal is focused. Our cause is just. And our coalition is strong." Nearly a decade earlier, when President George W. Bush announced that U.S. forces were launching military strikes in Afghanistan, Bush said: "To all the men and women in our military ... I say this: Your mission is defined. Your objectives are clear. Your goal is just." Bush used similar wording in other remarks at the time.

Also on Friday, Obama said, "The United States did not seek this outcome. Our decisions have been driven by Qaddafi's refusal to respect the rights of his people and the potential for mass murder of innocent civilians."
On Oct. 7, 2001, Bush said of operations in Afghanistan, "We did not ask for this mission, but we will fulfill it. ... We defend not only our precious freedoms, but also the freedom of people everywhere to live and raise their children free from fear."

lincoln, LBJ, wilson, kennedy, reagan.  now bush.  the imitation of his predecessors doesn't bother me.  what bothers me is the gross and hypocritical slander with which he slimed GWB, whom I consider to be his moral, intellectual, and political superior.

 A good start would be to bann lawyers from elected or appointed office where laws and regulations are made. Lawyers are dishonest by nature, they have to defend a person they know is guilty and try to get the accused declared innocent by a jury. That is effed up bad! Lawyers would still have a part, wording the law to mean exactly what was intended and nothing else! If they install a loop-hole by the wording of the law they should be sent to prison and decertified.

So lawyers must be dishonest to pass the Bar and be certified.

So you mean criminal lawyers are "dishonest"?  I think my law professor is by far one of the most honest people I know, but then she does stuff like setting up corporations and LLCs, contracts, etc.

 From my life experience of 67 years in the real world an honest lawyer is an oxymoron.
