Putnam County sheriff?s have arrested a suspect, Wayne Gary Masciarella, 26, on charges of first-degree murder, CNN reported. Other charges may be coming, police said.
Mr. Masciarella, a friend of Ms. Cash, had gone out with her and her boyfriend, William Austin Johnson, earlier this week. The night ended in a dispute among the three, and Ms. Cash, 23, and Mr. Johnson were both stabbed, police said, CNN reported. Mr. Johnson was able to escape with his and Ms. Cash?s 20-month-old daughter, The Daily Mail reported.
The Daily Mail also reported the altercation was drug-related.
Ms. Cash?s body was later found in a chest just inside the front door of her home, Putnam County Sheriff David Andrews said, to the media outlet.
The scene where the stabbing took place was ?somewhat bloody,? Mr. Andrews said, The Daily Mail reported. The box Ms. Cash?s body was stashed in measured about 4 feet by 1.5 feet and was 2 feet deep
