Another shooting in a "GUN FREE ZONE" this morning. When will we start outlawing these areas of crime? It should be ILLEGAL to have a GUN FREE ZONE anywhere that people congrigate!

I politely disagree. I believe that praying is doing something, and doing the best thing I can for them right now. I am not in Wisconsin, I cannot just hop a plane and go there, but I can pray. I can pray for everyone involved.

I can easily name several school shootings, several mall shootings, several office building shootings (all gun free zones), but zero attacks on innocent people at a gun range. Must be an incredible coincidence.

Is that why murder rate in milwaukee is down 15% because of CCW and chicago is up 31%? is that why this is another gun free zone where the criminal knew he could kill unarmed defensless ppl? use your head

Perhaps you should wait to find out if the shooter was lawfully carrying that weapon or even legally owned it before automatically blaming the concealed carry law. I'd be willing to bet this wasn't a concealed carry permit holder.

I can confirm now...

7 People Shot at Spa Near Brookfield Square Mall

Quote
Patch has learned the man wanted by police is apparently the estranged husband of one of the hair stylists at the spa.

A spa employee told Patch the hair stylist has been having problems since she left her husband. The man is believed to have slashed car tires in the parking lot of the spa and the business recently put up signs on most of its doors warning employees to keep them locked at all times.

The employee who spoke to Patch said the woman's estranged husband was out of work and his wife was working every day to bring in money to pay the bills. However, she recently decided to leave him, and that's when the problems started.

The two have two daughters, ages 12 and 21, the Azana employee told Patch.

A bomb squad was called to the scene after 1 p.m. after an explosive device was believed to be in the spa building.

Earlier reports said Brookfield Square Mall was on lockdown following the shooting, however, as of 1:20 p.m. people were allowed to leave the mall. Mall employees told Patch that they have received little information about the incident and have not been told whether to close their businesses.

Newsradio 620 WTMJ's is reporting that authorities are searching for a 6-foot 1-inch, 270 pound with a bald head and brown eyes. He was reportedly driving a black 2003 Mazda. Authorities believe he may be from Brown Deer.

One witness told WISN-TV that the shooter had a machine gun.

Brookfield police have not provided any details on the incident as of 1:45 p.m. CST.

A spokeswoman for Froedtert Hospital told Patch: “We have been notified that some are coming," but had no information on how many victims there were.

FOX6 News is reporting that four people have been taken to Froedtert with non-life-threatening injuries and that three more are on their way. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that there may be eight victims altogether.

Froedtert was put on lockdown at about 1:30 p.m., but there was no official word on the reason for that.

The incident happened about 11 a.m.

Tactical units entered the spa building. There are at least 15 ambulances on the scene from multiple jurisdictions.

The roads around Brookfield Square have been closed.

Sally Flaschberger, of Brookfield, is counting herself lucky after she was running late for her pedicure appointment at the salon Sunday morning. She was about to turn into the salon at about 11:15 a.m. when she was a police officer with a rifle running in the parking lot to get behind her car.

“She was a very brave woman whoever that cop was,” Flaschberger said. “She was the only person there.  … She looked pretty alone at that point.”

Flaschberger turned into the Brookfield Square Parking lot instead. That’s when she saw the Brookfield Police Department responding in force. She can’t believe that something like this would happen at the salon where she’s been a client for years.

“I am just very lucky, very, very lucky,” Flaschberger said. “I can’t imagine the poor people who were there, just trying to enjoy their day on a Sunday.”

One mall customer, Lisa Taylor of Sussex, told Patch that the mall employees have not been told whether to stay on their jobs or leave the building.

David Gosh, of West Allis, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel he was driving past when they saw a woman coming from the salon and the shooter chasing her before the shooter ran into the building or behind the building.

"She ran right out into the street and was pounding on cars," Gosh told the Milwaukee newspaper.

The Brookfield shooting comes approximately 10 weeks after Wade Michael Page opened fire at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek, killing six people and injuring four more, including Oak Creek police Lt. Brian Murphy on Aug. 5.

also I did hear in the rumor mill of a small propane tank as a IED... it seems this is true as well.

I guess a link would help........ Embarrassed..

A gunman dressed in military fatigues has launched a shooting spree at a suburban Milwaukee spa and he is thought to have been targeting his estranged wife who worked as a stylist at the salon and had a court order of protection against him.

A 45-year-old man named Radcliffe Haughton was identified as the suspect who shot an estimated seven people at a day spa in Brookfield, Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon. He is still at large.

During the investigation, police found an Improvised explosive device on the scene, prompting them to issue a call for extreme caution.

Haughton was reportedly seen fleeing the scene in a 2003 black Mazda. He was described as a bald ethnic man with darker skin, about 6 foot one inch tall and 270 pounds.

Scene: Women are seen gathering outside of the Azana Spa where the shooting took place this morning when a man opened fire at his estranged wife's place of work

A local news station claims to know the identity of the suspect but are have yet to release his name.

Haughton is estranged from his wife who works as a hair stylist at the salon where the shooting took place. He lives in nearby Brown Deer, Wisconsin, and police are trying to determine whether or not he is at the scene or if he has gone back to his house.

Court records show that a judge issued a order of protection against Haughton just three days ago on October 18, hinting that there was a credible threat against the estranged wife.

Police reportedly warned nearby hospitals to prepare for multiple injuries. The exact number of victims, their condition, and what if any connection they had to the shooter is unknown.

Father of suspect warned son, 'Don't do anything stupid'

Quote
The father of the man suspected of shooting seven people at a Brookfield spa Sunday morning said his son asked to stay with him in Florida after the suspect's wife got a restraining order against him last week.

"He told me, 'I have to get out of Wisconsin,' " said Radcliffe Haughton Sr., who spoke with his son, the suspected gunman, Radcliffe Haughton, last week on the phone.

Police are still searching for the younger Haughton, who they say shot seven people - killing three - around 11 a.m. Sunday at the Azana Salon & Spa on Moorland Road.

Reached at his home in Florida, Haughton's father had not heard about his son.

"So he hasn't been apprehended? Oh Lord. Have mercy, God," he said.

A restraining order was issued against Haughton on Thursday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

According to online court records, Haughton was not allowed to have firearms and was directed to deliver firearms to the sheriff. The order does not indicate if that happened.

His wife, Zina Haughton, has a beautician's license and might have worked at the salon, Haughton's father said.

The younger Haughton grew up in Wheeling and Northbrook, Ill., and spent four years in the Marines after high school. He later became a general manager of a Fields car dealership on Green Bay Road. He lost that job a few years ago, his father said, and might have been working in sales again.

On October 8 and October 9, Haughton wrote on his Facebook page "Need to get out of Wisconsin, HELP …" and "can anyone help me ge
