Speak for yourself.

That's sad.  I hope you don't call yourself a Christian.

Open the jails and prisons, it was all in the past, lets forgive.

Open all the kindergartens to sex offenders, we'll just call it Applied Sex-Ed

Charles Manson hasn't eaten anyone in a long time, lets forgive and forget.

it sounds to me like this is a story of loss and redemption:

Quote
Later in 2006, Myers told her story on the "Dr. Phil" television show, informing the popular psychologist that she had appeared in her first porn film at the age of 22, while a homeless mother of two, according to the "Dr. Phil" website.

"Doing pornographic material has ruined my teaching career and my life," she said, according to the website. "I was broke and wound up meeting some strippers who introduced me to stripping. I was making a lot of irrational decisions, porn only being the worst."

Myers, who later earned a bachelor's degree from Murray State University in Kentucky and at one point served in the Army at Fort Lewis, told Dr. Phil McGraw that she suffered from bipolar disorder and that when she did the films, she was exhibiting erratic behavior.

"I was not who I am today," she said. "I've gotten on medication. I've found God. I've gotten an education. I've done everything I could possibly do to prove that I'm a different person now. ... As a teacher, I can exemplify what it means to change."

1) Being a former porn actress isn't a crime.

2) If you're in prison, you've probably committed a crime.

3) Rape, molestation, etc are crimes.

4) Charles Manson and his "family" committed crimes.

One of these things is not like the others...

At least I wait until they were born and judged them by their own actions.

I saw that story, and started to post it.  but I couldn't decide how to approach it.  so I gave it up. Grin

I'd advise, with a wad of singles Grin

She has shown an abject of moral reasoning, I place porn stars and prostitutes in the same category as sex offenders. They have no business being an influence on children.

I really find it fascinating, or delusional, that you have some inherent tendency to create your own definitions than feigning anger, disappointment, or outrage at others for not adhering to them.  With only more amazement stemming from the blatant lack of education or memory that tends to accompany your definitions.

So you are judging me by YOUR standards then.

hypocrisy.

Everyone has their own standards and have every right to them.

Actually, if your reading comprehension is worked on a bit, you likely will find that I did not pass a judgement upon you at all.  While certainly not applying 'my' standards to you.

To reiterate, I said I was fascinated by some of your tendencies.  Although, I did mention delusional soon afterwards, that was a pondering of semantics or DSM scientific terminology.  I abandoned that direction of thought, before passing judgement though, as my fascination was profoundly more what I was attempting to express.

As for the comment about lack of education or memory, that wasnt passing judgement.  It was an active observation of your repeatedly following up your revisionist definitions with a misunderstanding of history.  I'm not judging though or upholding you to my own personal standards, again, I'm just amazed.

On a curious note.  I know you're not Muslim, as you don't consider that a religion.  I know you're not Christian, as you actively denounce the central Christian aspects of forgiveness and redemption.  Yet you have repeatedly implied religious morals, are you agnostic?

Forgiveness and redemption is between them and God. As a society all we have to go by are your own actions. We don't let criminals walk for courtroom redemptions, thank God.

Forgiveness and redemption is between them and God. As a society all we have to go by are your own actions. We don't let criminals walk for courtroom redemptions, thank God.

So which God are you following than?  I'm confused, just searching for some sort of reference point.  Certainly forgiveness and redemption is between an individual and God, or the atleast with the God I attempt to follow.  However, with the God whom brought us the bible, forgiveness and redemption is still a pretty significant pillar of faith amongst ourselves.  For how can we miserable sinners seek forgiveness from God, while refusing to forgive our neighbors?  Certainly, there are consequences for our actions, both on earth and in the Heavens, however forgiveness and redemption still remain one of the central pillars of the Christian faith.

Perhaps, you're latching on to a fundamental interpretation of right and wrong.  I can understand that, certainly what is right and wrong are quite clear to the soul and Holy Spirit.  Amongst us wretched sinners, I wish it was a bit easier at times.  We have rights and wrongs based on legal, ethics, customs, and of course the all trumping Heavenly.  Sadly, they so often seem to conflict with each other.

Even with the case of this teacher, her actions were perfectly legal.  I see no professional ethics crossed by her.  While the customs of American society may look down upon a person in pornography, publically at least, our nation's soul certainly embraces it which is a far truer reflection of our hearts.  Now, certainly working as a porn actress is absolutely reprehensible for the soul and ones relationship with God.  However, sin is so reprehensible, that we are no different.  That momentary lustful glance, failure to help the poor, or extra indulgence in alcohol or food are equally sinful transgressions that we've all likely made at one point.  I for one am an absolute thanks that God has forgiven me for my wickedness.  While also incredibly thankful that I live in a country that does not practice Sharia Law, where Gods gift of choice is honored and respected, and we're not all jailed from birth for original sin and the transgressions of our soul.
