it's very important to observe what the first atlantic hurricanes of the season do, because they all seem to follow the same pattern.  one year, everything hits florida.  another year, everything goes back out into the atlantic.  another year, mexico get the heck beath out of it.  another year, NC gets everything that forms.  another year, everything is huge, and hits the gulf coast.

no, I didn't study meteorology, but I did stay in a holiday in express last night.

This year better not be a Texas/Louisiana border year.

any hurricane with the same name as the 42nd president would almost definitely head toward virginia with a wild abandon, only to blow it's wad on cape hatteras.

the local TV stations were nearly breathless about Bill right up until last night.  "Stay tuned to channel (whatever) for the latest on hurricane Bill".  they made it sound like it was across the street, and was addressed directly to us.   :Smiley

I was only halfway paying attention this morning but I think I heard them say Bill's a Cat 3 now.

Well, it's a 4 now, but once it gets into colder water it should slow down before it hits Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, etc.

it already ruined the clinton's vacation

Quote
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, were visiting this week but a local newspaper, The Royal Gazette, reported they cut their vacation short and left Thursday because of the approaching storm.
